South Korea has announced a major increase in Pakistan’s labor quota for 2025, giving more skilled workers the chance to secure employment under the Employment Permit System (EPS).
According to details shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new quota has been raised to 5,400 workers, up from 2,400 in 2024. The decision follows successful discussions between Pakistan and South Korea’s Human Resource Development Mission, reflecting Seoul’s growing confidence in the capability and professionalism of Pakistani labor.
The EPS program allows foreign workers to fill skill shortages in key industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, and construction. To qualify, Pakistani applicants must clear the EPS-TOPIK language test and a technical assessment. The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) will continue to manage the selection process in Pakistan, ensuring that all standards meet Korean labor requirements.
Officials noted that continued cooperation between both countries has helped expand job opportunities for Pakistanis seeking employment abroad.
