Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to rise starting October 1, as the federal government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reviews a proposal from the petroleum sector submitted to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The proposed increase varies by product, with petrol set to rise by Rs 2 per litre, high-speed diesel by Rs 2.48 per litre, kerosene by Rs 4.65 per litre, and light diesel by Rs 1.76 per litre.

The Prime Minister will make the final decision after consulting with the finance ministry.

Currently, petrol (Super) is priced at Rs 264.61 per litre, while high-speed diesel costs Rs 272.77 per litre. Rates may change following the government’s review.
