A Los Angeles toy store was hit by burglars who stole boxes of sought-after Labubu dolls—leaving behind cash and electronics.
Security footage captured four suspects breaking into One Stop Sales in La Puente early Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. While deputies estimated the stolen goods’ wholesale value at $7,000, store owners put the retail loss at more than $30,000.
“They just came in and, like nothing, took it all,” co-owner Joanna Avendano told ABC 7. She believes the heist was planned, citing a suspicious truck seen the night before and recent social media posts announcing a Labubu restock.
The dolls, prized by collectors and celebrities alike, can sell for up to $500 each in stores and even more on resale markets, fueling both counterfeiting and black-market trade.
Investigators said the suspects fled in a Toyota Tacoma later found abandoned. The investigation is ongoing.
