World capitals express solidarity with Pakistan over flood devastation in KP

Global leaders have expressed grief over the loss of lives and destruction caused by floods in Pakistan, extending condolences and offers of support.

According to the Foreign Office, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy spoke with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, expressing sorrow over human and material losses. He conveyed solidarity with Pakistan during this difficult time and voiced hope for positive outcomes from Dar’s visit to London. Ishaq Dar thanked the UK for its support and said he looked forward to further engagements with British leadership.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also expressed condolences over the devastation, sending messages of sympathy to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Zardari. He assured that the UAE stands with Pakistan in this difficult hour and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement expressing deep sorrow over the deaths in northern Pakistan due to floods, conveying sympathy to the government and people of Pakistan.

Iranian President also sent a message of condolence to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing grief over the tragic loss of lives and offering assistance in relief operations. He assured Pakistan of Iran’s support in this time of crisis.

Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al Yahya held a telephonic conversation with Ishaq Dar, assuring that Kuwait’s government and people are ready to extend all possible assistance to Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a condolence letter to President Asif Zardari, expressed grief over the loss of precious lives caused by the floods.
