The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast widespread rain, wind and thunderstorms across Sindh, including Karachi, from Sunday evening until September 11, as a depression over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Sindh strengthens.
According to the advisory, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sujawal and Jamshoro districts.

Moderate to heavy falls are also likely in Larkana, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Sukkur, Jacobabad and Ghotki.
Karachi is forecast to receive intermittent rain and thunderstorms, with heavy to very heavy spells until September 11. Temperatures in the city may fall to 28–30°C by Tuesday, with humidity levels rising to 90 per cent.

The PMD cautioned that heavy downpours, windstorms and lightning could disrupt daily routines, cause urban flooding and waterlogging in low-lying areas, and damage weak structures, electric poles, vehicles, billboards and solar panels.
It added that medium-level flooding is occurring at Guddu Barrage, while Sukkur and Kotri barrages are experiencing low-level flooding.
The River Indus at Guddu is expected to reach very high flood levels between September 8 and 9.
Authorities and residents have been advised to remain alert, while farmers are urged to adjust agricultural activities in line with the forecast.
