Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has challenged Sharmila Farooqi to a debate on the performance of Punjab and Sindh and said that such progress is happening in Sindh that is not visible, if you are interested, come and debate her.

Challenging Sharmila Farooqi for a debate on her statement, Uzma Bukhari said that the PPP has been in power in Sindh for 17 years, Maryam Nawaz’s government in Punjab has not even completed two years, you cannot count your 17 public welfare projects in 17 years, Maryam Nawaz has started 90 projects in one and a half years, of which 50 have been completed.

Uzma Bukhari said that Maryam Nawaz has given 90,000 houses in her Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program, given 80,000 scholarships, distributed tractors to 9,500 farmers in Punjab, distributed electric bikes to 27,000 students, free distribution of the latest laptops to intelligent students in Punjab is also ongoing, a thousand-bed cancer hospital, free medicine supply, electric buses, cardiology hospitals are being built.

The Punjab Information Minister said that I am completely ready to debate with you, let’s compete on performance, that’s what we are saying, such development is happening in Sindh that is not visible, let’s show it to the nation, if the people of the 17-year government are keen to compare it with Punjab, then debate with enthusiasm.

Uzma Bukhari said that the people of Karachi themselves used to praise the roads and cleanliness of Lahore, which worries you, why do you want to force BISP on the flood victims of Punjab? Maryam Nawaz is going to give relief checks of Rs. 10,10 lakh to the flood victims of Punjab, while you give Rs. 10,000 to the flood victims of Sindh through BISP. We have no objection.
