A wave of lawlessness hit Kotri and Jamshoro as two major robberies left residents shaken.

Six unidentified armed men broke into the home of retired Sindh University professor Wazir Ali by smashing through the boundary wall. The suspects held the professor’s family hostage for several hours as they ransacked the house. The dacoits looted approximately 18 lakh rupees worth of gold jewelry, cash in lakhs of rupees, and six mobile phones, before locking the family in a room and fleeing. Despite the prolonged ordeal, police patrols and the nearby station remained unaware of the incident until after the robbers had escaped.

In a separate incident, a Land Cruiser V8 worth millions was snatched on the M-9 Motorway. The vehicle, belonging to local rent-a-car operator Maroof Chang, had been sent with driver Abdul Waheed Brohi for a wedding booking in Jamshoro. Near the Karachi Canal area, four suspects wearing police uniforms stopped the vehicle under the pretext of a security check. The driver was shifted to another car and later abandoned near Ayub Hotel in Hyderabad, while the culprits fled with the SUV.

The shaken driver reported the crime to his employer, who lodged an FIR at Jamshoro Police Station. Police said a case has been registered and investigations are underway.
