In the current global politics, the President of China, Xi Jinping, needs no introduction. Since taking over the leadership of China in 2012, he has demonstrated exceptional insight, wisdom, prudence and foresight, presenting China as a dignified and powerful nation on the world map. The credit for this remarkable transformation goes entirely to President Xi Jinping. Such leadership, which moves forward with a sustainable and stable vision, has the power to reshape the world and that is exactly what has happened between 2012 and 2025.
Under President Xi’s leadership, China has joined the positions of the world’s leading nations. When he assumed office in 2012, he focused not only on international development but also gave due attention to domestic political, economic and internal matters.
In 2020, the Chinese government announced the eradication of extreme poverty and lifted approximately 100 million rural residents out of poverty. This was a major challenge that China successfully tackled.
Another significant challenge was infrastructure and urban development. China made heavy investments in high-speed rail, smart cities, and modern urban structures. A clear example of this is the bullet trains running between Wuhan, Shanghai, and Beijing a true symbol of development. I have personally traveled on these trains a comfortable, time-saving facility that perfectly reflects modern China.
In 2013, President Xi launched a global project the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Initially, Western countries especially India criticized it and labeled it a failed initiative. However, today over 150 countries have signed agreements under this initiative. Through it, China has increased its trade and diplomatic influence across Asia, Africa and Europe, and has transformed the infrastructure of underdeveloped nations. Pakistan is a clear example, where the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has opened new paths to progress.
China has also made notable advancements in renewable energy, including solar energy. Under President Xi’s leadership, China has prioritized environmental protection and implemented effective policies against pollution actions rarely seen since Chairman Mao’s era.
President Xi centralized power significantly especially after 2018. Through a major anti-corruption campaign, over one million officials were investigated or punished. This not only strengthened the Communist Party’s control but also increased public trust in it.
In the social and cultural sectors, noteworthy steps were also taken. Multiple initiatives were launched to ensure equitable resource distribution. China focused strongly on ideological education, national development, science, technology, and cultural preservation. The government worked extensively on artificial intelligence, modernizing education and equipping the military with advanced technology.
The most prominent aspect of President Xi’s leadership is China’s global influence. Today, China is an active and effective player in international organizations such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the United Nations.
Thanks to President Xi Jinping’s strategy, tireless efforts and vision, China has achieved a distinguished position in global politics. However, countries like the United States and India now view China as a major rival.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, China’s strategic and measured response became a global example. Under President Xi’s leadership, China made a strong mark in technology and international diplomacy. His vision is of a powerful, prosperous, and modern China one that not only advances internally but also influences the global stage.
His long-term strategy, discipline, and effective state system have earned China strong international trust. Today, countries around the world are becoming part of Chinese-led projects and look to China for solutions to global challenges.
Achieving such global trust and recognition is rare and China has succeeded in doing so. The credit, without a doubt, goes to China’s President, Xi Jinping.
