Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif on Saturday said that the spirit of martyrdom has made Pakistan invincible.

A central ceremony was held at Jinnah Hall Fort in Sialkot to commemorate Pakistan Defence Day on September 6, marking the memory of the 1965 war, Asif participated in the ceremony as a special guest.

While addressing the event, Asif stated that historic events like Operation Bunyān al-Marsūs breathe new life into the existence of nations. In the 1965 war, the Pakistani armed forces crushed the arrogance of an enemy many times larger, and this day holds the status of a golden chapter in history.

The minister said that the Pakistan Army is safeguarding the country and nation by watering the soil with their blood, and the spirit of martyrdom has made Pakistan unconquerable. He added that the Pakistan Armed Forces are playing a vital role not only in geographical defense but also on diplomatic and economic fronts.

Calling Defence Day a day to renew commitments, Asif emphasised that the entire nation should unite and stand with the armed forces for the defense of the country.
