PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam has criticized opposition leaders and said that instead of celebrating August 14, some people are trying to create division by linking it with personal or political agendas.

Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON Amir Muqam addressed a public gathering at the residence of former provincial minister and PML-N leader Jamshed Mohmand in Shamilat area of Mardan on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day and paid tribute to the struggle for the establishment of Pakistan, the sacrifices and the spirit of the nation in the current situation.

He said that it is our national responsibility to celebrate this day so that we not only remember our heroes but also learn from the mistakes of the past and improve the future.

Describing this year’s celebrations as full of a special spirit, Amir Muqam said that the celebration of independence this time is more exciting because recently, during the “Battle of Truth”, Pakistan surprised the world by defeating its long-time enemy India in a few hours.

He said that after this feat, Pakistan’s global image has been elevated and the value and prestige of the green passport has increased.

Amir Muqam said that despite being a major power in terms of population, economy and defense, India cannot compete with the spirit of the Pakistani nation.

Mentioning his presence on the border, he said that he saw the determination and courage of the youth with his own eyes and this spirit cannot be bought at any price.

The Federal Minister clarified that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have always demonstrated Pakistaniism since the establishment of Pakistan till date, supported Pakistan in the referendum, participated in the wars of Kashmir and made sacrifices.

Criticizing the opposition, he lamented that instead of celebrating August 14, some people were trying to create division by linking it to personal or political agendas.

He said that such elements were apparently following the agenda of India and Modi because they wanted to spread chaos instead of uniting the nation.

He said that the victory of Independence Day and the struggle for truth is not the victory of any one individual or party but of the entire Pakistani nation and it should be celebrated by everyone together.
