The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in collaboration with the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA), has busted a major network of India’s intelligence agency RAW.

Officials revealed that the network was behind the target killing of a social worker, Abdul Rehman, who was shot dead in Badin district on May 18, 2025. Six suspects have also confessed to planning multiple terrorist attacks in Karachi.

Additional IGP CTD Azad Khan, accompanied by DIG CTD Ghulam Azfar Mahesar and SSP CTD Irfan Ali Bahadur, briefed the media on the breakthrough during a press conference at the Central Police Office on Saturday.

Azad Khan said Abdul Rehman, 45, was known for his welfare activities in Badin. He was gunned down near Matli police station jurisdiction, and killers fled the scene.

Soon after, Indian media celebrated the murder of Abdul Rehman. A case was registered at Matli police station, and later transferred to CTD Karachi due to its sensitive nature and RAW’s direct involvement.

During the investigation, CTD reviewed CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts, leading to the arrest of two suspects. Weapons and a motorbike used in the attack were also seized.
