Schools and colleges across Karachi and the rest of Sindh reopened on Thursday following a two-month summer break. The first day back was marked by drizzle and pleasant weather, adding to students’ excitement. However, attendance remained low in most institutions, and many private schools have opted to reopen from Monday, August 4.

Students arrived at school in vans or accompanied by parents, some still sleepy, others visibly excited. At White House Grammar School in Gulshan-e-Umer, children returned with visible joy after the long break.

The school’s principal, Sadaf Kamran, told reporters that students were enthusiastic to return. “We focus equally on academic and personal development.

Alongside studies, we engage students in creative activities to help them grow holistically,” she said. It is worth noting that the Sindh Education Department had officially announced the summer break from June 1 to July 31, with schools reopening from August 1.
