Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has announced his resignation from the position, saying he wishes to dedicate more time to legal matters.
In a statement on X, Raja said he will formally request PTI founder Imran Khan to relieve him of his responsibilities, though he will continue to represent the party in legal cases free of charge.
He noted that he had earlier submitted a request through Advocate Ali Bukhari to be relieved of the post, following what he described as “unjust punishments” faced by party members. However, Imran Khan had not accepted that request.
Thanking the party chairman for his trust, Raja underlined that he is not a career politician, but comes from a modest background and has faced challenges both within and outside the party with the support of his family.
“Even while setting aside a successful legal career and financial stability, I stood with the party, and I have no regrets,” he said.
