The Supreme Court has issued its first list of cases of national level in 2011 while constituting six benches for resumption of hearings.

A three member bench of the apex court will resume hearings of the cases of dyke breaches in Sindh, the suo motu case of Bahria Town Tragedy in which five people were killed during a car race and the repurchasing of British Petroleum assets by the government at exorbitant prices.

The other bench will resume the hearing of the Mukhtaran Mai case. A four member larger bench of the court, headed by Justice Mahmood Akhtar Shahid Siddiqui will resume the hearing of the PCO judges’ case.

A four member bench has been hearing the contempt of court cases against PCO judges, who had violated the seven-member bench decision on November 3, 2007.
