LAHORE: In a positive move for government pensioners, the Punjab government has reinstated the old pension rules, allowing widows and unmarried daughters of deceased employees to once again receive a family pension for life.
This decision reverses a change made last year, which limited family pensions to just 10 years after the employee’s death. With the new notification, lifetime pension benefits for eligible family members have been restored.
The notification also clarified that in cases of multiple marriages, the pension will be distributed among all eligible beneficiaries according to the established rules.
