Chairman PTA challenges Islamabad High Court’s decision to remove him from office.

According to Chairman PTA filed an appeal under the Appeals Ordinance 1972 against the decision of the Islamabad High Court to remove him from office.

The appellant is the current Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), who has taken the position in the application that he was first appointed as Member (Administration) in PTA on May 24, 2023, after which he was promoted to Chairman on May 25, 2023.

The application states that Chairman PTA Hafeezur Rehman is performing his duties in accordance with the laws and regulations and has filed this appeal against the decision of the Islamabad High Court to prove the legality of the appointment.

The appeal states that Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Babar Sattar, while delivering a reserved judgment today, decided to remove the Chairman PTA from office.

The PTA Chairman has also requested the court to schedule the appeal for immediate hearing.
