Prime Minister declares 3 Gilgit citizens who saved 300 lives as national heroes, awards Rs 2.5 million each

The Prime Minister was met by heroes Wasit Khan, Ansar and Muhammad Khan, who saved 300 lives in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan with timely measures.

According to Express News, Wasit Khan, Ansar and Muhammad Khan work as goat herders, who, seeing the avalanche at a height, called their villages and informed them in advance, due to which the residents of three villages were evacuated in time and human lives were saved.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to the three heroes of Gilgit-Baltistan for saving human lives, declaring them heroes of 240 million people and announcing a reward of Rs 2.5 million each for the three.

The Prime Minister gave certificates of appreciation to the three people and hinted at a visit to Gilgit-Baltistan in a few days and also announced to make the affected village a model village.

Talking to the heroes, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that by saving human lives, you have shown your spirit of service, people like you have the status of messiahs for the entire nation.
