Premier to distribute relief funds among the victims

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Gilgit on Monday for a one-day visit aimed at reviewing flood damage and meeting affected families, as the region recovers from recent heavy rains and flash floods.

PM Shehbaz was received at the Gilgit airport by Governor Syed Mehdi Shah and Chief Minister Gulbar Khan. A high-level delegation, including key federal ministers, accompanied him on the visit.

Those present include Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Engineer Amir Muqam, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musaddiq Malik, Advisor Rana Sanaullah, and Coordinator to the Prime Minister Shabbir Usmani.

During the visit, PM Shehbaz will meet with residents affected by the recent monsoon rains and floods that have caused significant damage across Gilgit-Baltistan.

He will distribute relief funds among the victims as part of the federal government’s ongoing support efforts.

Officials are expected to brief the premier on the extent of infrastructure damage, loss of property, and the humanitarian response initiated so far in the region
