Pakistan warns terror facilitators: Surrender or face elimination

KARACHI: Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has issued a decisive warning to all facilitators, supporters, and financiers of Fitnah al-Khawarij militants to surrender them to the state or face swift elimination. The strong message follows the recent martyrdom of more than a dozen soldiers, including three officers, during intelligence-based operations in Orakzai and Dera Ismail Khan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that “the blood of our martyrs has drawn a clear line,” emphasizing that those who challenge the state’s writ will be dealt with an iron hand. He vowed that there would be no compromise when it comes to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty and internal security.
Echoing this resolve, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed a press briefing at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, describing the campaign as “not just a military operation but a national war for survival.” He warned that anyone involved in facilitating, financing, or sheltering terrorists-including through illegal activities like smuggling and narcotics-would be treated as an enemy of the state.
Security and defense analysts backed the government’s tough stance, calling it long overdue. They highlighted how billions of dollars’ worth of weapons left behind in Afghanistan have strengthened militant groups operating across the border. Experts also underlined the importance of pressing the Afghan interim government to fulfill its commitments under the Doha Agreement and stop the use of its soil for cross-border terrorism.
Authorities are also considering urgent measures to repatriate unregistered Afghan nationals, intensify border security, and ensure full implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).
The message from the top leadership is clear: Pakistan will neither tolerate terrorism nor allow its soil to be destabilized. The state is prepared to use its full might to dismantle terror networks and their support systems.
