Our goal is to include Pakistan in the ranks of G-20 countries, Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar has said that the government has achieved many successes in the economic field, now the Pakistani economy is moving in the right direction and our goal is to include Pakistan in the ranks of G-20 countries.

Addressing a ceremony at the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi (Bari Imam) in Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that in 2017, Pakistan had become the 24th largest economy in the world, but later the economic situation deteriorated and the people faced difficulties due to inflation.

He said that Pakistan will become a respectable nation among the nations of the world, our goal is to include Pakistan in the ranks of G-20 countries.

He said that Pakistan is rich in natural mineral resources, Pakistan has mineral resources worth trillions of rupees and vigorous steps are being taken to explore these resources.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that according to a survey, Pakistan has the fourth largest gas reserves in the world and also has vast reserves of gold, copper and precious stones.

He said that during the rule of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), the country was saved from economic bankruptcy, while during the rule of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Pakistan was facing diplomatic isolation.

The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan achieved great success in the war against India and India’s ambitions to establish a four-pronged approach in the region have been thwarted.

He paid tribute to the role of Sufis in the propagation and spread of Islam and laid a wreath at the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi (Bari Imam).

On this occasion, he said that it was an honor for him to participate in the annual Urs ceremony of Hazrat Bari Imam.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that the government has completed the renovation work of the Bari Imam Complex, which was delayed earlier, and appreciated the efforts of the officials who played a role in the development and protection of the shrine of Bari Imam.

The three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Kazmi Bari Imam will be celebrated from August 8 to August 10.
