Opening of the new buildings of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan named after Imam Azam – Abu Hanifa Nu’mon ibni Sobit

Dushanbe , the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, inaugurated the new buildings of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan named after Imam Azam – Abu Hanifa Nu’mon ibni Sobit in the Sino district of Dushanbe.

The new buildings of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan were built with funding from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the support of generous entrepreneurs of the country, in accordance with the architectural and cultural traditions of the civilized Tajik nation, formed over thousands of years, with a very beautiful and attractive design, and are considered one of the most important scientific, research and educational centers of the country. The newly built buildings were erected in the light of the educational policy of the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the state independence. They are designed for 2,500 students.

The facility is located on an area of more than two hectares and consists of 7 buildings with 6 and 8 floors. The area of the buildings is 46 thousand 816 square meters. Construction work on the facility began in 2019 and was completed in compliance with modern industry requirements and beautiful Tajik decoration.

This facility has an assembly hall with 513 seats, 90 classrooms, offices and other necessary rooms.

The work and study rooms are equipped with new generation industry equipment and have the necessary conditions for conducting practical classes.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, noted that the development of education and science has always been a priority for state policy, and the Government of the country mobilizes all opportunities to strengthen the foundations of enlightenment, raise the level of education and upbringing, and develop the intellectual potential of young people.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, got acquainted with the comprehensive and scientifically-culturally significant museum of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan.

It was reported that the museum adequately presents the rich history of Islam in the land of the Tajiks, the scientific role of great masters and scholars of the Tajik nation, and their contribution to the development of Islamic civilization.

The museum exhibits rare copies of manuscripts, historical books, and written works of famous Tajik scholars. The museum’s collection also contains historical objects and monuments that testify to the architectural and Muslim culture of the Tajiks.

Among them, rare copies of the Holy Quran, stone inscriptions, calligraphy tablets, and other historical objects are placed.

Another section of the museum is dedicated to the role of the Republic of Tajikistan in the revival of national and Muslim values during the period of independence, and through photographs, documents and official materials, it reflects the activities of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, and the state policy in the revival and promotion of the cultural heritage of our glorious ancestors.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, noted that the establishment of such a museum on the basis of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan will provide ample opportunities for students and researchers to get acquainted with the history of Islam in our land, outstanding personalities, and scientific and cultural works.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that an electronic library, a test hall, a gym with 168 seats and two medical rooms have been placed on the upper floors of the institute. The medical center is able to provide medical services to 300 people at a time.

At the same time, a dormitory for 520 students has been prepared at the institute.

The area of the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan and its surroundings, covering an area of 6,560 square meters, have been paved and landscaped.

The conditions and opportunities provided at the Islamic Institute of Tajikistan will continue to be used as an important scientific, educational, experimental and practical base for various disciplines, contributing to the increase of students’ religious and secular knowledge.

During the visit, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the quality of the work and gave instructions and recommendations to those responsible for preparing highly qualified personnel and involving them in scientific studies, scientific research, and preserving high national values.
