The Sindh High Court has issued notices to the Sindh government and other relevant authorities on a petition filed against an illegal fireworks warehouse on MA Jinnah Road.

The case was heard in connection with an explosion at the warehouse that killed a young man and injured his brother. The petition was filed by the mother and brother of the deceased.

Advocate Usman Farooq, representing the petitioners, told the court that on August 21, an explosion occurred in an illegal fireworks manufacturing unit, resulting in the death of one son and serious injuries to the other. Despite repeated complaints regarding the presence of explosive materials in the densely populated area, no action was taken by the authorities, he said.

The lawyer further argued that the lives of local residents and shopkeepers are at risk, especially as the building houses a medical supplies market frequented by elderly and ailing individuals. He alleged that the local administration was facilitating the operation of the illegal warehouse and factory.
