Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Saturday reiterated his zero-tolerance stance on harassment in women’s universities.

“I will not allow any harassment case to go unpunished. If a complaint reaches my office and is proven true, strict legal action will be taken, including immediate dismissal,” he declared.

Speaking during a visit to Bahawalpur, the governor emphasised that his top priority as chancellor of public universities is to ensure academic integrity, institutional reform, and the protection of students and faculty.

He reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating the culture of favouritism in educational institutions and promoting a merit-based, transparent academic system across the province.

He inaugurated the newly constructed Arfa Karim Academic Block at the Government Sadiq College Women University and also participated in the centennial celebrations of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Later, he chaired a meeting of the Board of Governors at Sadiq Public School.

In a statement issued by the Governor’s Office, Saleem Haider described the inauguration of the Arfa Karim Block as a moment of pride, calling it a tribute to Pakistan’s youngest IT prodigy.
