ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has issued a statement regarding the return of former Pakistani Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and other Pakistanis illegally detained by the Israeli occupation forces.
Regarding the Pakistani nationals aboard the Samood flotilla, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in its statement that we have confirmed through diplomatic channels of a friendly European country that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed is safe and well in the custody of the Israeli occupation forces.
We have further been informed that Senator Mushtaq Ahmed will be produced before the court under local legal procedures and when deportation orders are issued, his return will be ensured on an immediate basis.
According to the spokesperson, Pakistan is actively in touch with its international partners to ensure the safety and prompt return of its citizens illegally detained by the Israeli occupation forces.
The Foreign Office has already taken steps for the safe return of those who had separated from the flotilla in the first phase. In this regard, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the brotherly countries that have assisted in the repatriation of our citizens.
The Government of Pakistan is committed to the safety of all its citizens abroad and it is expected that the repatriation process will be completed in the next few days.
