Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir has etched his name in history by completing 400 wickets in T20 cricket.
The milestone came during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, where Amir, playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, dismissed Fabian Allen of Antigua and Barbuda Falcons to claim his 400th scalp.
At 33, Amir becomes only the second Pakistani fast bowler to achieve this feat, following Wahab Riaz, who leads with 413 wickets in 348 matches. Amir reached the mark in his 343rd game, also breaking into the list of the top ten wicket-takers in the format’s history.
The former Pakistan star shone with the ball, recording figures of 4 for 31 in his four-over spell. Yet, despite his brilliance, Trinbago Knight Riders slipped to defeat.
Batting first, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons posted 167 for six, powered by Fabian Allen’s explosive 45 off 20 balls and captain Imad Wasim’s unbeaten 39 off 27.
In reply, Trinbago Knight Riders fell eight runs short. Veteran all-rounder Kieron Pollard played a fighting knock of 43 from 28 balls, laced with four sixes and three boundaries, but his effort wasn’t enough to turn the game.
