A man opened fire on his family, killing his wife and father and leaving his 12-year-old daughter critically injured in domestic quarrel on Saturday.

According to police, the incident took place in Chak 50-JB, Sathiala, in the jurisdiction of Nishatabad Police Station.

The suspect, Sajjad Ahmad, shot his wife Shazia, 40, and daughter Tayyaba Noor, 12, during an argument. When his father, 65-year-old Ghulam Farid, tried to intervene, Sajjad also fired at him.

All three were rushed to hospital, but Shazia and her father succumbed to their wounds on the way. The daughter remains in critical condition.

Senior police officials, including SP Madina Town and DSP Nishatabad, reached the scene and shifted the bodies for post-mortem. City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad took notice of the incident and formed special teams, led by DSP Nishatabad and the local SHO, to arrest the absconding suspect.

Police said the accused had been working at a landlord’s estate and was on the run.

Meanwhile, in separate incidents, three women were targeted in sexual assault cases in Faisalabad district.

In Samanabad, Muhammad Arshad reported that his daughter was lured to the house of accused Jamil alias Jeela, where she was allegedly raped. In Jaranwala’s 123-GB area, Ali Raza reported that his 16-year-old sister was allegedly assaulted at gunpoint by suspect Malik Aleem when she was home alone.

In another case at Chak No. 271-GB, a suspect named Saleem allegedly attempted to assault a woman after scaling the wall of her house, but she managed to raise alarm and the attack was foiled.
