Two suspects, including one affiliated with the Lyari gang war’s Samad Bhai Kathiawari group, died while three others were left injured in alleged encounters with police.
In an exchange of fire between the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police and suspected members of an extortion group in Jilani Goth, Surjani Town, Ehtishamuddin alias Asif Burger, a shooter affiliated with the Samad Kathiawari gang, was killed. Weapons, ammunition, and a motorcycle were recovered from the slain suspect, who was identified through fingerprint matching. It was also revealed that the suspect had over 13 cases registered against him, including those related to extortion, robbery, possession of illegal weapons, and street crimes.
