KARACHI: Senior Minister Local government, Saeed Ghani stressed on the critical need for community participation to protect future generations from HPV-related cancers when he was the chief guest in the advocacy Seminar on Saturday held at Najamuddin auditorium of Jinnah post Graduate Medical Centre, Karachi.
District Health office South in Collaboration with Expanded program of Immunization EPI (Sindh) organised the seminar to create importance of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccination to protect female population from Cervical Cancer.
Speaking at the advocacy Seminar senior Minister Sindh ,Saeed Ghani highlighted the importance of HPV Vaccination and said that It’s the blessings for Women to prevent themselves from HPV related Cancers because the treatment is not curable and too expensive. Our 12 days campaign. Will target around 130 million girl’s students of age group 9 to 14 years .When there is COVID 19 which destroyed world economies and we are praying for the prevention vaccines. We are getting this vaccines free of cost that is why we did not realize its importance.
Advisor to Chief Minister, Sindh Syed Najmi Alam said that every girls school will be target, and there is the dire need for complete involvement of Union Councils (UC) to create awareness in Communities and Specially the role of female Counsellors is very important because awareness is the key to Success to achieve the desired results. Global communities will restrict our travelling if we are not successful in eradicating various diseases like Polio and others which can prevent from Vaccines, need grass root efforts for eradication.
Project Director EPI (Sindh) Dr Raj Kumar said that we have to appreciate the role of our Health Minister Sindh Dr Azra Fazal Peechu Visionary role who realized the importance of HPV vaccination and Sindh is playing its leading role with the help of our partners. HPV vaccination is given in 137 countries and even our South Asian Countries like Srilanka and Bangladesh has successfully beaten the HPV ,So EPI Sindh office team and vaccination teams is looking for your support .The HPV campaign will kick off from 15 -27 September to prevent the rising incidence of Cervical cancers.
Pakistan’s introduction of the free HPV vaccine, which involves the Ministry of National Health Services and local health authorities in Sindh promoting vaccination for girls. Ministers and other health officials underscore the vaccine’s life-saving potential to prevent HPV -related cancers.
