In a recent interview with journalist Mehdi Hasan on the ZETEO channel, Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, addressed the growing concerns regarding the safety of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sons, Qasim Khan and Suleyman Khan. These concerns have intensified following reports that the boys may face arrest or harm if they attempt to visit their father, who is currently imprisoned in Pakistan.

Asif vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that the reports were false. In a tense exchange, interviewer Mehdi Hasan pressed Asif to provide assurances that Imran Khan’s sons would be able to visit their father in prison without facing any consequences.

“They won’t be arrested. They won’t be harmed,” Asif responded firmly, countering fears that the boys’ visit to Pakistan could result in retribution.

When Hasan further asked if Asif could personally guarantee their safety, the Defence Minister did not hesitate. “I give you my guarantee that they can come and visit their father and safely return,” he stated confidently.

These remarks come amid continued speculation about the political implications of Imran Khan’s imprisonment and his family’s treatment. The issue has become a focal point of debate, with Imran Khan’s ex-wife, Jemima Khan, publicly expressing concerns that their children could be targeted if they travel to Pakistan.

While Asif’s assurances may alleviate some concerns, doubts remain about the political climate surrounding Khan’s detention and its impact on his family.
