KARACHI: Advisor to the Governor of Sindh and Federal Secretary, Syed Tariq Mustafa, said, “Allah has blessed Pakistan with an abundance of natural and human resources, the greatest of which is a skilled and creative workforce that must now excel in critical technologies to meet modern demands and challenges,” says a Press release.
He was addressing the meeting of the Hamdard Naunehal Assembly (HNA), Karachi chapter, held Tuesday at the Quaid-i-Azam House Museum under the theme “We are proud to be Pakistanis.” Sadia Rashid, President of Hamdard Foundation Pakistan, presided over the proceedings. Syed Tariq Mustafa represented the Chief Guest Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori, who could not attend due to immediate engagements. Former Governor of Sindh, Gen (Retd) Moinuddin Haider, also attended the meeting as Guest of Honour.
Syed Tariq Mustafa said that the Governor of Sindh had launched free courses on artificial intelligence for students, enabling thousands of young people to secure online employment through freelancing. In addition, a special complaints cell had been established at the Governor House, which remained active 24 hours a day. Citizens could approach it for the prompt resolution of their issues, including students, if they face some sort of hindrance in their educational pursuit.
He also said, “The speeches of the young participants created a sense of hope of a brighter and better future of Pakistan among all of us. The new generation is filled with the spirit of national service and is striving to acquire modern knowledge. The credit for making the children of this forum confident goes to the great human being and reformer of the nation, Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said, who rendered unmatched services in the fields of health and education. Hamdard Pakistan, the institution he founded, is part of the childhood memories of every Pakistani. Many of us learnt Urdu and the importance of discipline through the monthly Hamdard Naunehal. The undertraining students at HNA will definitely lead Pakistan tomorrow and take it to new heights. A truly ideal society is one that produces role models in every sphere, and by the grace of Allah, Pakistan is also producing such individuals who serve as guiding lights. Ms Sadia Rashid is a valuable national asset, and young students should look to her life as an example to follow.”
Ms Sadia Rashid, in her address, said that the greatest blessing of Allah Almighty is that we were born in a free country. Pakistan is a priceless gift, achieved through countless sacrifices, prayers, and the continuous struggle of our forefathers. This homeland is not merely a piece of land but the realisation of the dreams of the Muslims of the subcontinent – expressed in the poetry of Allama Iqbal and realised by Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Our elders laid down their lives so that future generations could live in freedom. Today’s youth are the true builders of this nation and the architects of tomorrow’s Pakistan.
She said that Pakistan did not come into being on ethno-linguistic basis, but upon the ideology of Islam. Here, every citizen is first and foremost a Pakistani, and therefore we must think and act as one nation in order to secure a dignified place among the nations of the world. Quaid-i-Azam repeatedly emphasised the importance of taking pride in being Pakistani, and this is also the lesson reflected in the life of Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said. He devoted his life to the intellectual and moral guidance of children and youth. Through the HNA and the Hamdard Naunehal magazine, he nurtured the minds of the younger generation. After assuming the office of Governor of Sindh, he organised the HNA session at the Governor House on 14th August – a clear testament to his deep affection for children and his concern for the future of the nation.
Gen (Retd) Moinuddin Haider said that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said was an exemplary figure in punctuality. Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said established many educational institutions and, as a social leader, he always stressed character-building along with education in his addresses. Unfortunately, the tragedy of our society is that we have always neglected the aspect of character development. He further said that those who endured the pain of migration understand the true value of Pakistan more deeply. Pakistan is moving in the right direction and its future is bright; therefore, there is no need for pessimism.
The young speakers included Ayesha Fawad (Hamdard Public School) as Leader of the House, Syed Muhammad Shuja (Hamdard Public School) as Leader of the Opposition, along with Qareena Awan (The Savvy School), Rohan Adnan (GST Hilal School), and Nazish Khan (Hamdard Village School), who shared their thoughts on the topic. Students of Karachi Vocational Training Centre presented the national anthem and patriotic songs, while the students of Rose House School performed a theatre play.
