BEIJING: The Head of the Department of Pakistan Studies at Hazara University recently participated in a seminar series held in China. The title of the event was “Seminar for Directors of Media and International Relations Experts of Countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt”, organized by the State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the Center for International Communication Development of the China. This seminar brought together participants from various countries, including Canada, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, Spain, Central Asian Republics, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Libya, as well as many countries from Africa, Europe, and Asia. Each country was represented by one invited delegate. From Pakistan, the Head of the Department of Pakistan Studies, Madam Ayesha Alam, represented her country.
The seminar series featured different sessions and lectures, covering topics such as regional connectivity, mutual cooperation, counterterrorism, and concerns regarding regional peace. Pakistan’s representation was made by the Head of Pakistan Studies.
Department of Pakistan Studies at Hazara University has developed strong ties with the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, on the basis of which a Pak-China Friendship Corner has been established at the university library. Regular cultural activities, academic events, and seminars are conducted, and the department of Pakistan Studies is playing a significant role in strengthening and advancing Pakistan-China relations.
That is why, at this international-level gathering, the Department of Pakistan Studies was granted the honor of representation.
