Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a special relief package for flood victims and announced the waiver of bills for the month of August for domestic consumers.

In his brief and important statement to the nation, the Prime Minister said that we fully understand the difficulties of the flood victims, in which the federal government will pay the electricity bills from its own resources.

He said that paying the electricity bills is not a favor but it is the right of the flood victims, and the domestic consumers who have paid the August bill will be refunded this amount in the next month’s bill.

The Prime Minister said that clear instructions have been issued in this regard, in addition, a detailed estimate of the electricity bills related to the agricultural, commercial and industrial sectors in the affected areas is being made, while the collection of their bills is being postponed immediately.

Shahbaz Sharif said that if the estimate of the above-mentioned sectors turns out to be higher, then the government will take further steps to provide them with more relief. The Prime Minister said that the necessary instructions have been issued immediately to the relevant electricity distribution companies.

The Prime Minister said that the destruction and losses in the flood-affected areas are such that people are sitting under the open sky. In view of this situation, this is a humble effort on the part of the servant of Pakistan, which will reduce the suffering of the victims, and the flood-affected areas will be completely resettled. He said that we will not rest until everyone affected by the flood is resettled, may Allah Almighty help us.
