Flood compensation through card planned

‘Maryam Nawaz Sharif Flood Relief ATM Cards’ will be issued to the victims to compensate for their losses.

According to a handout, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) director general stated that financial assistance would be provided to all flood victims across Punjab after verification by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Land Revenue Authority (PLRA) and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

The survey of the flood-affected areas is under way.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif asserted that the government would reach out to every flood-affected individual and pay compensation for their losses.

According to a PDMA report, 1,314 survey teams are engaged in flood-affected areas across 27 districts of the province.

So far, the teams have collected data of 41,735 flood victims. Details of crop losses suffered by 28,632 farmers have been compiled, covering 49,510 acres of the affected land. Moreover, data has been collected of 12,500 damaged houses, 603 livestock farmers who lost 2,459 animals.
