First-ever Punjab Police Golf Tournament tees off at Gymkhana

  • Landmark tournament brought together professionals, amateurs, and senior officers from across the province.

 

LAHORE: For the first time in the history of the Punjab Police, a grand Inter-Region Police Golf Tournament was held at the Gymkhana Club, Lahore, through the personal efforts of DIG Establishment-I, Suleman Sultan Rana.

The tournament, organized under the patronage of the Pakistan Police Golf Team’s patron and DIG Establishment-I, Suleman Sultan Rana, brought together over 15 police golfers, including professionals, amateurs, retired officers, and senior players.

Chairman of the Pakistan Police Sports Board and RPO Sheikhupura DIG Athar Ismail Amjad also took part in the event. Punjab Police players displayed impressive skill and enthusiasm, marking a significant milestone in the department’s sporting activities.

At the closing ceremony, certificates of appreciation, shields, and prizes were distributed among players who delivered outstanding performances.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Suleman Sultan Rana said the tournament aimed to promote a culture of sportsmanship and enhance physical and mental capabilities among police personnel. He commended the young officers for excelling in a challenging sport like golf, noting that their performance reflected both discipline and dedication.

He further added that Punjab Police golfers have already earned recognition at national and inter-provincial levels, and assured that the force would continue to extend full support and encouragement to its golf players, just as it does in other sports.
