Two minor boys were allegedly sexually assaulted in separate incidents in the city on Thursday as the number of sexual assaults against women and children has reached 538 across Faisalabad’s five town divisions, involving approximately 800 accused.

The breakdown shows 115 cases in Sadr Division, 126 in Iqbal Division, 120 in Jaranwala Division, 125 in Madina Town Division, and 52 in Lyalpur Town Division.

As per the police reports, one case was filed by Muhammad Ismail, a resident of Muzaffargarh, who stated that the accused, Muhammad Rauf, employed his 13-year-old son near the WAPDA workshop on Jaranwala Road and arranged for him to stay at the factory quarters.

Two days later, the accused allegedly drugged the boy with an intoxicating juice and sexually assaulted him. The victim reported waking up to find himself naked.

Police have registered a case under Section 376 of the PPC and are searching for the accused.

In a separate incident, Abdul Rasheed, a resident of 203-RB Miananwala, reported that his 15-year-old son, Muhammad Aziz, went to offer Maghrib prayers and failed to return.

During their search, the family heard the boy’s screams near the National Textile University hostel. They discovered that the accused, Farhan and an accomplice were assaulting the boy in a vacant quarter adjacent to the hostel. The accused fled upon seeing the complainant.

A case under Section 376 of the PPC has been registered, and a manhunt is underway.

These specific cases reflect a broader, more distressing trend in the district.

Regarding the legal status of these cases, police officials stated that complete charge sheets for 212 cases and incomplete charge sheets for 172 cases have been submitted to the courts.

Meanwhile, 44 cases remain under investigation and 110 cases have been quashed by the courts on merit. Police confirm that a majority of the accused involved in these registered cases have been arrested.
