DHA Suffa university hosts national songs competition to celebrate patriotism

Karachi: The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at DHA Suffa University successfully organized a National Songs Competition to commemorate the remarkable achievement of Bunyanu Marsoos and to rekindle the spirit of patriotism among the youth. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students of universities, colleges, and schools, who captivated the audience with soulful renditions of national songs.
The ceremony opened with a welcome address by Dr. Imtiaz Arif, Dean of Management and Social Sciences, who underscored the role of music and cultural activities in fostering unity, peace, harmony, and national pride among the younger generation.
A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the performances, comprising Mr. Rana Tareef (senior producer), Mr. Iqbal Zawi (renowned singer and DHA Suffa alumnus), and Mr. Ali Moazzam (accomplished singer and alumnus). Their expertise and encouragement enriched the experience for the participants.
The competition was graced by Brig. Dr. Zeeshan, Director General Marketing, DHA,who attended as Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the university’s efforts in promoting cultural and nationalistic activities, noting that such platforms are vital in instilling love for the homeland and strengthening the values of resilience among youth.
Special recognition was given to Mr. Jibran Khan and Ms. Huma, the lead organizers, for ensuring the event’s smooth and successful execution. Adding to its prestige, Hum TV partnered as the official media partner, broadening the reach and showcasing the university’s vibrant cultural spirit.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Samreen Bari, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, expressed gratitude to the participants, judges, Chief Guest, and Hum TV. She highlighted the importance of such initiatives in uniting students across institutions and nurturing a collective sense of belonging, pride, and commitment to the nation.
The competition not only celebrated Pakistan’s rich musical heritage but also served as a reminder of the shared values and spirit of patriotism that continue to inspire generations.
