Dengue virus cases are increasing rapidly in Islamabad. In the last 24 hours, 31 new dengue cases have been reported in the capital, out of which 22 cases are from rural areas and 9 cases are from urban areas.

A total of 720 dengue cases have been reported from Islamabad so far this season, out of which 20 patients are currently undergoing treatment in hospitals. Health department officials said that residual spraying has been completed in the affected houses and their surrounding areas.

According to officials, fogging operations have been carried out at 2,000 locations while 16,332 positive larval sites have been eliminated this month. In total, more than 846,000 anti-dengue activities have been carried out so far.

Vector control teams of CDA and MCI are active in high-risk areas. Fines and legal actions are being taken for violation of SOPs. The Health Department has appealed to citizens to clean water containers, tanks, and coolers to reduce the chances of dengue mosquitoes breeding.
