CM deploys rescuers in flood-prone areas

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered immediate deployment of rescue teams to cope with the flood situation in affected areas.

According to a statement, she directed the local administration and relevant departments to make advance arrangements in the districts of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha, Gujrat and Gujranwala for possible heavy rains. She directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to remain alert to deal with any untoward situation.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz asserted that compliance with alerts, SOPs and instructions given by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) should be

ensure.

She ordered announcements from mosques for timely evacuation of flood-affected population.

She directed the authorities concerned to set up Clinics on Wheels and field hospitals for the providing timely treatment and care to flood victims.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered provision of vaccination and medical facilities for livestock in the affected areas and to give prior information to the residents of affected areas by sending SMS.

She directed the PDMA, administration and other relevant departments to make special arrangements in the affected areas adjacent to the rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the rescue teams, administration, police and other relevant departments to take necessary measures in areas along Sutlej River.

She directed the authorities to ensure immediate evacuation of the population dwelling adjacent to the river.

She ordered measures for timely relocation of livestock from the flood-affected areas.

On the direction of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the agriculture, irrigation, health, forests, livestock, local government and transport departments have been put on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed profound grief over the demise of the mother of Saudi Prince Fahd Bin Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. She extended her heartfelt sympathies and condolence to Prince Fahd bin Muqrin and the bereaved family.

She prayed that may Allah Almighty grant courage and fortitude to the grieved family to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
