Cloth merchantshot dead over’personal enmity’

Unidentified armed assailants, riding a motorcycle, shot a cloth merchant dead in Orangi Town on Monday. The victim was returning home after dropping his son at school. He was the father of three children. Police have termed the incident a result of personal enmity. CCTV footage has also surfaced, in which the motorcyclists can be seen opening fire on the victim.

The police reached the spot and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where the deceased was identified as 44-year-old Muhammad Naeem, son of Bashir.

According to Orangi Town police, the victim was the resident of Sector 6-L, Banarsi Market, Orangi Town. The incident occurred at around 7:45am when the victim was returning home on his motorcycle after dropping his son at school near Shadab Ground. As he was passing by the ground, two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on him, causing his on the spot death as he was hit by four bullets.

Police confirmed that no attempt was made to rob the victim, as his mobile phone, ID card, and motorcycle were found intact.
