London: Britain, Canada and Australia have announced the recognition of Palestine as a state, saying that Israel has not met other conditions, including a ceasefire.

According to a Reuters report, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a statement on the social networking website X that today Britain has recognized Palestine as a state, reviving the hope of peace for Palestinians and Israelis.

The report said that Britain’s move is in line with more than 140 other countries but will cause resentment for Israel and its key ally the United States.

According to the report, Canada and Australia have also recognized Palestine as a state and more countries are likely to recognize Palestine during the UN General Assembly session in New York.
