The operations manager of a private bank on Airport Road was shot dead by a man reportedly affiliated with a sensitive agency.

Police said the suspect, identified as Mohsin Ali, entered the bank in Kot Chutta Circle, jurisdiction of Chowti Police Station, wearing a military uniform. Armed with a weapon, he demanded the bank’s operations manager, Sarmad Mehboob, hand over all available cash.

When the manager informed him that banking hours had ended and the cash counters were already closed, the suspect allegedly insisted on obtaining the keys. Upon resistance, the armed man opened fire, killing Mehboob on the spot.

The assailant managed to flee the scene after the shooting. SHO Ali Imran and police teams cordoned off the area, collected evidence, and registered FIR 641/25 under Sections 302 and 397 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Police confirmed that investigations are underway and vowed that the suspect will soon be arrested and brought to justice.
