Asia Cup: Deadlock persists between PCB and ICC, Pakistan-UAE match likely to be cancelled today

Dubai: The PCB and ICC are deadlocked over the removal of the referee in the Asia Cup, team sources have said that there is a possibility of no match between Pakistan and UAE today.

According to Express News, the Pakistan Cricket Board has demanded the removal of referee Andy Pycroft after his controversial role in the Pakistan-India cricket match.

The PCB wrote a letter to the ICC and made it clear that if the match referee is not changed, Pakistan will boycott the remaining matches of the Asia Cup.

An emergency meeting of the ICC was held on Pakistan’s demand, in which a deadlock remains between the PCB and the ICC on this issue.

According to sources in the national cricket team, the team has been asked to stay in the hotel. The team is not going to the stadium, there will be no cricket match between Pakistan and UAE today.

On the other hand, fans who bought tickets for the Pakistan-UAE match are worried and have been instructed to go to the stadium only when the match is confirmed.
