SRINAGAR: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the ongoing house raids and searches carried out by the Indian forces in broad daylight, calling them a deliberate attempt to conceal its failure to suppress the freedom sentiments and resistance of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that BJP regime, along with its RSS-influenced agencies like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and State Investigation Agency (SIA), is engaging in widespread human rights violations under the guise of raids and searches across IIOJK. “India is stifling political dissent through a relentless campaign of state terrorism, continuing its atrocities against unarmed Kashmiris,” he added.

The APHC highlighted that the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have endured Indian occupation and repression since 1947, and that the BJP-led Indian regime has stepped up its repressive tactics following the revocation of the territory’s special status in August 2019. The statement stressed that the high-handed policies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, coupled with grave human rights abuses, have only strengthened the Kashmiris’ resolve to resist the illegal Indian occupation.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s League, in a separate statement in Srinagar, also condemned the ongoing raids and arrests targeting pro-freedom activists. The party described the latest wave of house raids and detentions as an attempt to intimidate the population and weaken the ongoing resistance movement.

It urged international human rights organizations to take serious notice of these arbitrary arrests and the widespread violations committed by Indian forces and agencies in the occupied territory.
