Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has called his rise in Bollywood a blessing, saying his success there was part of God’s plan.

In an interview with an Indian journalist, the Tere Bin singer reflected on his early days, recalling collaborations with composers Shekhar Ravjiani and Mithoon. “Shekhar not only understands poetry but also music deeply, while working with Mithoon was special since we both were just starting out,” he said.

Aslam said some of his most memorable work was for Salman Khan films, describing those songs as highlights of his career.

Acknowledging current political tensions, he noted he cannot travel to India but misses his fans and colleagues there. He also admitted Pakistan’s showbiz industry lacks the “superstar” culture of Bollywood, which made his recognition across the border even more meaningful.

“Pakistan may not have many stars, but God chose me to shine in Bollywood, a place already filled with big names. Those memories remain very close to my heart,” he added.
