An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Thursday approved bail for PTI founder Imran Khan’s nephew, Shershah Khan, in the Jinnah House attack case linked to the May 9, 2023 riots.

Shershah, son of Imran’s sister Aleema Khan, was arrested by Lahore Police outside his residence on August 22. He was initially placed on a five-day physical remand, followed by a 14-day judicial remand starting August 28.

The bail order comes just a day after his brother, triathlete Shahrez Khan, secured bail in a similar case.

It must be remembered that Shahrez was produced before an anti-terrorism court in the May 9 case on Aug 23 where the court accepted the police’s request and granted an eight-day physical remand.

Shahrez Azeem was arrested from his residence in Lahore in the May 9 arson and vandalism case. He was presented before Lahore’s anti-terrorism court, where Special Judge Manzar Ali Gill conducted the hearing.
