ISLAMABAD: The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathne, paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, Lt. General Chandra Sukotjo, at the Embassy of Indonesia in the Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad.

Ambassador Sukotjo warmly received the Sri Lankan envoy and briefed him on the state of Indonesia–Sri Lanka relations. High Commissioner Senevirathne expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Indonesian mission and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation. He also underlined the vision of Sri Lanka’s current political leadership, which focuses on enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against corruption and malpractice, ensuring good governance, and creating opportunities for foreign investment.

During the discussion, the Sri Lankan High Commissioner praised the effective role of Indonesian law enforcement agencies in assisting Sri Lankan police authorities in the arrest of five internationally wanted criminals in Jakarta. Ambassador Sukotjo welcomed the remarks and assured that the Government of Indonesia remains committed to extending such cooperation in the future.

A Christy Ruban, Minister of the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Islamabad, also attended the meeting.
