Book Review
Sirajuddin Aziz’s Corporate Success: Engaged Leadership – Insights & Strategies marks the author’s tenth contribution to literature on leadership and management, and perhaps one of his most distinctive. The book stands out not only for its thought-provoking insights but also for its structure, endorsements, and the diversity of voices it brings together.
Distinguished Endorsements and Unique Features: A unique aspect of this book is the impressive collection of six blurbs written by five former and current Governors of the State Bank of Pakistan-a distinction rarely seen in works of this genre. Another novel feature appears immediately after the Author’s Note in the section titled “Opinion & Views”. Structure and Organization: The book compiles eighty-seven of Aziz’s articles published in leading newspapers between 2021 and 2023. 3. Leadership – Perhaps the author’s favorite theme, explored in depth. Essays like “Lead Thyself First” emphasize that true leadership begins with self-discipline, adherence to principles, and becoming a role model before guiding others.

4. Learning and Development – Here, Aziz explores growth and self-assessment. In “Personal Balance Sheet”, he uses the metaphor of accounting to show how individuals must weigh their “inflows and outflows” to maximize growth, both personal and professional.
5. Communication – Aziz reflects on the art of conversation, silence, and listening. Essays in this section remind readers that effective communication is not just about speaking but also about choosing words wisely and listening attentively.
6. Managerial Traits and Skills – This part delves into the competencies and sensitivities required of managers, from patience and focus to thoughtful interaction with colleagues, especially across gender lines.
7. Toolbox – The final section is practical,
