PTI Karachi President Raja Azhar sought enforcement of an inquiry report against police personnel involved in a baton charge on a PTI convoy at Sohrab Goth.

The petition, he filed through Advocate Khalid Mehmood in the Additional Sessions Court, Malir, states that the court had earlier directed DIG Aamir Farooqi to conduct an inquiry into the incident. The investigation held four officers from Sachal and Sohrab Goth police stations responsible for the use of excessive force.

According to the inquiry report, the officers were recommended for departmental action and suspension. It also advised the return of Rs 170,000 allegedly snatched from Raja Azhar during the crackdown.

The petition demands that the court be informed of the steps taken to act on the DIG’s report and recommendations. Raja Azhar has urged the court to ensure that justice is served and appropriate action is taken against those responsible.
