Acting US Ambassador meets Interior Minister; discusses individuals wanted by Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has met again with Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker, in which common issues, bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest between the two countries were discussed.

The meeting also discussed Pakistan’s wanted citizens in the US, while it was agreed to increase cooperation in the fields of border security, counter-narcotics, coast guards and forensics.

The Acting US Ambassador expressed regret over the loss of life and property due to floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab and expressed sympathy with the victims.

On this occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that US President Donald Trump’s statement of joint efforts to increase oil reserves in Pakistan is welcome. American investors can take advantage of investment opportunities in various sectors including oil in Pakistan and the government will provide them with all possible facilities.

Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker said that the US attaches special importance to relations with Pakistan. New opportunities for cooperation with Pakistan are being explored.

Federal Secretary Interior Muhammad Khurram Agha and Additional Secretary Interior Major General Noor Wali Khan were also present in the meeting.
