The water level in River Ravi in Sarai Mughal continues to rise, with a medium-level flood recorded at Head Balloki.

According to the Irrigation Department, as of 3:00 PM on August 27, 2025, water inflow was recorded at 90,770 cusecs, while outflow stood at 78,870 cusecs. The department has warned that the water level is expected to rise further in the coming hours.

Deputy Commissioner Kasur Imran Ali stated that flood relief camps have been set up in Balloki and Dolo Multani to provide immediate assistance in affected areas of Tehsil Pattoki. Rescue 1122, Livestock Department, Health Department, Revenue Department, and Social Welfare teams are actively engaged in relief operations.

According to Tehsil Administration Pattoki, low-lying areas along River Ravi, including Dolo Multani, Jajja Kalan, Kalu Khokhar, Taneki, and Atari Bhop Singh, have been affected.

Floodwater has entered crops in several areas, raising fears of damage worth millions of rupees for farmers.

DSP Circle Pattoki Rana Sajjad Akbar said that in view of the flood situation, police have become more active. Patrolling in affected areas has been increased, and announcements are being made through mosques to keep people informed in time.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson, more than 15 people have so far been shifted to safer locations from different low-lying areas of Balloki, and further evacuations are underway.

Locals, however, complained that in some villages the administration’s access remains limited. District officials have assured that all affected areas will soon be reached by relief teams.

Deputy Commissioner Kasur appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration, avoid believing in rumors, and immediately contact relevant departments in case of emergency. He said all institutions are on high alert, and full preparations have been made to tackle any possible danger.
